one fan that stuck out, traveled all the way from canada. traveled here without a world series ticket. he tried to potches one from the scalper. when he took it to the gate, that ticket was counterfeit and he was out $500. the prices are too expensive to go into the park to watch the world series games. money of them stand out side and like to hear the fans get crazy. let's listen to some of the fans. >> lots of events. been able to get scalping tickets anywhere. >> i looked online, yeah, we knew it was 500 for standing. too expensive. >> in 1962 i went to the world series in candle stick with my

a new data system for the drop. the latest tool. >> reporter: officials say is possible for 14% decrease in crime. for the first time since adopting the system two years ago, it is opening its door to its meeting to show the public how it works. it uses maps created by urban strategiess. a big part of their application that shows the hot spots for crime in the areas. then they redirect resources to those areas where crime is occurring. this part of oakland's new intelligence base policing which is responsible for a 30% reduction in homicides in oakland this year. there is new information

about the san bruno pipeline explosion. some local legislators and families asked the lines be moved saying they are too dangerous. tonight they say pg&e agreed to do just that. three suspects are under arrest accused of kidnapping, robbing and trying to kill two people. the victims were lured to the apartment, then held at knifepoint and taken to an atm where money was withdrawn from their accounts. the victims were bound, blind folded and pushed off a 15-foot bridge. they are expected to survive. all three of the suspects are

the world series is a big boost for local business. as kron 4's christine k, orange and black mean as lot of green. >> reporter: excited fans are not afraid to spend money. from sales at the dugout stores to busy taxi cabs. san francisco is cashing in on the world series. take this doughnut shop, workers say business has been insane. >> ridiculous. i have been working nonstop, you know. i barely get any rest. exciting. >> reporter: most restaurants and bars said they have seen double the normal sales. even public transit is getting a boost. ridership is way up.

look like the game will be rained out. into the 8:00 hour friday and by the afternoon the rain swings through the rest of the bay area. north bay bearing the brunt of the storm. 4 inches expected, depending on where you are. places like mill valley, san rufell will not see that much. less down in the south bay. they will stay dry all day tomorrow and most of friday. santa cruz, rain. look at the 7 day around the bay forecast, rain continues tomorrow and showers friday into saturday. most of the bay area will be excluded from this. good news for your halloween forecast, things dry out by morning. stay with us, we will be right back after this.
